On Saturday May 22nd, a 5K and 2 mile walk will be held at Matter Park in Marion, Indiana to raise money for the SFC Collin J Bowen Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded yearly to deserving Grant County high school students. The race was started in 2008, shortly after Bowen was injured by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. He later died from his injuries. Since the inception of the Run for Freedom, over $9000 has been given to high school students.
